Extra Curricular Activities

At the end of the first year, students are required to undergo SUMMER PLACEMENT by working in reputed organisations for two months. This helps them apply management education to the realities of business and industry. In order to develop a humane perspective in life, MBA students spend a week in a rural area (RURAL IMMERSION) at the end of the first semester, living in groups of six to ten and experiencing the simple lives of rural folk. The Institute is planning, designing and implementing a new grassroot venture called AIMIT VILLAGE, in which students and faculty members will be engaged in developing rural programmes and models in neighbouring villages.

Students of AIMIT Business School have been organising INSIGNIA, the National Level Management Fest; PRAGATHI, a International symposium on current issues; MANASAMANTHANA, a paper presentation programme, SANJEEVINI, a blood donation camp, Joy of Giving (JOG) and  Daan Utsav, a Social Service, and a host of other curricular and co-curricular activities. Organising such events every year gives them first-hand experience in leadership and teamwork, and improves their ability to communicate.

Management Development Programmes

AIMIT has successfully conducted many Management Development Programmes (MDP) since its inception. The new MDP Centre with residential facilities for the participants was inaugurated in Sept 2017 and has been offering many MDPs and FDPs. St Aloysius College soon plans to have Twinning Programmes with some of the leading universities in the US and Canada. University of San Francisco, California, University of Waterloo, Canada, and Boston College, Boston have already come forward to draw up an MOU with St Aloysius College. We also have plans to send our MBA students to universities in US and Thailand on completion of the first year to gain international academic exposure.

Curriculum

AIMIT offers a choice-based credit program. The curriculum offered includes: a) Problem-centricapproach rather than theory focused approach; b) Encouraging dynamic, critical and analytical thinking in every course rather than static, descriptive methodologies; c) Advocating integrated business management in the place of the traditional “silos” of MBA learning such as Accounting, Finance, Production, HR, Econometrics and Business Analytics and Marketing; d) Empowering students with Corporate Ethics.

All students are encouraged to do self-learning through Marketing, HR, Finance, and other Creativity and Innovations labs. The Institute is redesigning the entire MBA program with market-based problem-centered integrated Business Management modules. We plan to deliver the entire MBA programme as a professional holistic system than teach it in discrete business disciplines.
