Dr. Vasantha G

Dr. Vasantha G completed his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Dept. of Business Administration, Mangalore University in 2009. He completed his doctoral degree in the same institute in the area of financial derivatives in the year 2015. He holds M.Com degree from Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysore with fifth rank. He cleared UGC-NET exam with Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in the year 2010.

Before joining to MBA course, Dr. Vasantha had worked for Daksha Corporate Solutions, an audit firm at Bangalore as the audit assistant. Then he shifted to Hotel Leela Palace, Bangalore and worked as accounts assistant for six month. After MBA degree he joined Karvy Stock Broking Ltd. as junior dealer in commodities at its Mangalore Branch where he worked for five months. Then he shifted to teaching by joining Karavali College, Mangalore and then SDM College of Business Management, Mangalore. After completion of doctoral degree he served as the guest faculty in the Dept. of Business Administration, Mangalore University.

Dr. Vasantha has presented many papers at National and International Conferences and has won the Best Paper Award at 10th AIMS International Conference in 2013 held at IIM-Bangalore. His research papers were presented in various conferences organized by esteemed institutes like, IIM-Bangalore, IIM-Kizhikode, IBS-Hyderabad, Indian Institute of Capital Market-Mumbai, SDM-IMD-Mysore etc. Some of his research articles has been published in UGC listed journals such as AIMS International Journal of Management and IUP Journal of Applied Finance. He has been resource person in research methodology, financial derivatives, management education, capital market operation, MS Excel, Eviews and SPSS in and around Mangalore. He also writes articles in kannada for newspapers and he won the best article award in a competition organized by Udayavani daily.

He has been working as Assistant Professor at the Post Graduate Department of Business Administration at AIMIT, St. Aloysius College (Autonomous) since July 2016.
