Dr. Hemalatha N

Dr Hemalatha N is Associate Professor and Bioinformatics coordinator in the department of IT and Bioinformatics. She has over 15 years of experience in teaching and 4 years in industry. She holds a Masters degree in Computer Applications with second rank in Kannur University and Management with specialization in Information System from AIMA, Delhi. She has obtained her doctorate in Information Science and Technology from Kannur university for her work titled “Sequence Analysis and Gene Prediction using Pattern Recognition Algorithms for Oryza Sativa Indica”.

She has to her credit 5 papers in reputed journals and 60 papers in various National and International conferences. She has been a resource person and keynote speaker for national conferences. She is reviewer for many International journals ,Program committee member of reputed conferences in India and abroad and B.O.E member for MSc Bioinformatics program , PG dept of IT in Kannur university and School of life sciences, Manipal university. She has coordinated and conducted many FDPs and workshop in Bioinformatics. She has guided many research works of MSc Bioinformatics inside and outside the college. She is a member of ACM, IEEE and IACSIT.
